Camper Girl

Met a Glenn Erick Miller at an event for local writers from Southwest Florida. Out of the fifty or so authors there, he was the only one who published a young adult novel through a traditional publisher as opposed to getting self-published. We’ve met a few times for coffee and shared common struggles with writing, getting published, and creating an online presence. His novel, Camper Girl, is a good read and has won numerous awards.

The protagonist is Shannon Burke, a recent high school graduate who doesn’t have a clear plan regarding what to do with her life until she inherits a small, used camper from a close aunt. After finding a mysterious map hidden inside, she strikes off on a journey to find herself only to uncover a family secret that gives her the direction in life that she so badly needed. A great summer read.
